With this Statement of Understanding (SOU), your sellers can’t say they didn’t understand. The SOU spells out, in layman’s terms, what is happening to include an elementary level flow chart of the deed and mortgage. This is just one more step to show that you have provided your sellers with all of the information and that you are being as upfront and responsible as possible.
